Lewis, Rennie join ‘The Firm’

Thesps sign on for NBC midseason drama

Juliette Lewis and Callum Keith Rennie have joined the cast of NBC midseason drama “The Firm,” starring Josh Lucas.

It will be a rare network series regular role for Lewis, whose first was in 1987’s “I Married Dora” for ABC. She will play the receptionist who works for Lucas’ Mitch McDeere and is in an on-again, off-again relationship with his brother, played by Rennie (“The Killing”).

David Straiton (“House”) has signed on to direct the pilot, which will begin shooting next month in Toronto. Helen Shaver will helm several subsequent episodes.

The adaptation of the 1991 feature film that starred Tom Cruise will be exec produced by author John Grisham, Lukas Reiter, John Morayniss, Michael Rosenberg and Noreen Halpern. Skein is being produced by Entertainment One in association with Sony Pictures TV Networks and Paramount.

The series will air on Sony-owned AXN networks in more than 125 countries; eOne is distributing the series outside those markets worldwide.
