Levine named marketing topper at HBO

New hire comes from Fox theatrical side

HBO has hired Pamela Levine as its new exec VP of marketing.

Levine, who will begin her new job Nov. 15 in Gotham, comes from the features side. She was at 20th Century Fox for 16 years, most recently as co-president of domestic theatrical marketing.

“We use event marketing strategies often employed in the theatrical arena to launch most of our series, so Pam’s background makes her an ideal choice for this position,” said HBO co-president Kessler, to whom she will report. “HBO’s programming touches every genre, and Pam has experience with all of them.”

Levine replaces Courteney Monroe, who announced in September that she was stepping down. Monroe was exec VP of consumer marketing and digital platforms and ankled because she was commuting between New York and her home in Washington, D.C., and the constant travel became too difficult to overcome.

Among the Fox films on which Levine worked were “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Walk the Line” and “Avatar.”
