Rancic shares duties on syndicated newsmag

Leeza Gibbons has joined Bill Rancic to co-host half-hour lifestyle newsmag “America Now,” which will launch its weekday run on selected stations Sept. 12.

“America Now,” from Raycom Media and ITV Studios America, has been airing on weekends on 43 stations in all 36 Raycom markets (including Cleveland, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Memphis and Louisville), representing 13% of the country. It incorporates stories from the news divisions of 31 Raycom affiliates.

“I’m thrilled to return to television with a program that is meant to enhance the lives of viewers with information they can put to use immediately,” Gibbons said. “Today’s consumers have practically unlimited resources for information, but they have a finite amount of time. If we can help deliver succinct tools and advice that make viewers smarter, safer, stronger and more empowered, then we’ve done our jobs.”

Most recently, Gibbons has been hosting PBS lifestyle show “My Generation,” after past stints at “Entertainment Tonight,” “Extra” and “Leeza.”

“Leeza’s extensive background as a talkshow host, news reporter and social advocate makes her the ideal partner for us,” ITV Studios America prexy-CEO Paul Buccieri said.
