Network has not announced a replacment

“The Joy Behar Show” on HLN will go off the air at the end of 2011 after two years on the Turner news cabler. HLN has not yet announced a replacement, but the show saw a 38% year-on-year ratings improvement in the third quarter that will make it tough to top.

Originals for “Behar” will end in mid-December, with reruns airing in its slot until the first of the year.

“Joy and her team produced over 500 episodes of a show that featured newsmaking interviews, great conversation and plenty of humor,” HLN prexy Scot Safon said in an emailed statement on Thursday. “We thank Joy for the many memorable moments she gave the HLN audience.”

Behar said that she was “proud of the show that we created at HLN, and I owe tremendous thanks to the show team who made it possible.” An unspecified number of positions will be eliminated with the end of the skein on Jan. 3; TVNewser reports that staffers are invited to reapply for other positions within the company.
