'House,' 'Psych,' 'Monk' get primetime slots
Ion Television has acquired syndicated rights to “Monk,” “Psych” and “House” from NBC-Universal Domestic Television Distribution.USA Network’s “Monk” and “Psych” join Ion’s primetime schedule next month while Fox series “House” comes on in fall 2012. All three series will run twice a week. The trio of series joins a schedule that already includes an assortment of other procedural shows including “Criminal Minds,” “Flashpoint” and “Without aTrace.” “These series fit particularly nicely with our network’s ‘Positively Entertaining’ positioning based on procedural dramas and movies,” said Brandon Burgess, chief executive officer of Ion Media Networks. “Psych” and “Monk” hail from Universal Cable Prods. while “House” is from Universal Media Studios. “We applaud Ion Television for recognizing the value in these three award-winning series and we are happy to continue our great relationship with the network,” said Frances Manfredi, executive VP and general sales manager, NBCU Domestic TV Distribution.
