LACMA offers a free screening of “Lawrence of Arabia” as part of its Tuesday Matinee series. Bing Theater.

Benicio Del Toro presents a retrospective on Japanese filmmaker Kaneto Shindo with screenings of “The Naked Island” and other pics. Through Friday at Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theater.

THURSDAY: Lythgoe Family Prods. and Magic Pictures Intl.’s “A Cinderella Family Christmas,” a legit show done in the British panto tradition, opens at El Portal Theater in North Hollywood. Runs through Jan. 8.

FRIDAY: A remastered print of Charlie Chaplin’s “The Gold Rush” screens at Film Forum.

DEC. 26: The Alex Film Society presents “The Greatest Cartoons Ever” slate featuring Popeye, Woody Woodpecker, Bugs Bunny and other toons. Glendale’s Alex Theater.
