History’s ‘Hatfields’ lines up thesp trio

Berenger, Boothe, Winningham join miniseries

Tom Berenger, Powers Boothe and Mare Winningham have signed on to join the fightin’-and-a-feudin’ on History’s upcoming “The Hatfields and McCoys: An American Vendetta.”

Kevin Costner and Bill Paxton are the previously announced leads in the scripted mini, which will be helmed by Kevin Reynolds.

Berenger will play Anse Hatfield’s (Costner) uncle Jim Vance, while Boothe will play Hatfield’s older brother Wall. Winningham is set to play Randall McCoy’s (Paxton) wife Sally.

Based on U.S. history, the mini will track the progress of Hatfield and McCoy from brothers-in-arms on the battlefield of the Civil War to fierce enemies whose 13-year feud claimed a dozen lives during the late 19th century.
