HBO to adapt novel ‘Corrections’

Noah Baumbach, Scott Rudin developing Jonathan Franzen novel

Filmmaker Noah Baumbach and Scott Rudin are developing a series for HBO based on Jonathan Franzen’s bestselling novel ”The Corrections.”

Baumbach is attached to write the pilot script with Franzen. The duo will exec produce along with Rudin.

Story focuses on a Midwestern clan whose children have moved to the East Coast to begin a life of their own.

Anthony Hopkins has been mentioned as a possibility for the lead role of family patriarch, a railroad engineer.

Baumbach is an indie darling known for ”Greenberg,” ”The Squid and the Whale” and ”Margot at the Wedding.” He’s repped by UTA.
