BERLIN — CBS’s new “Hawaii Five-O” is coming to German television.
The remake of the classic island crime drama will premiere on Sat.1 in the first quarter of this year, although the broadcaster has yet to set a date and timeslot for the series.
The high-profile pick up, with its exotic locales, name recognition and attractive cast could prove a surefire hit for the web.
Alex O’Loughlin, who toplines the show as Steve McGarrett, also appears in the popular CBS vampire P.I. skein “Moonlight,” which currently airs on Sat.1 affiliate ProSieben.
“Hawaii Five-0” enjoyed a successful premiere on CBS in September, attracting 14.2 million viewers and a 3.9 rating in the key 18-49 demo.
The original “Hawaii Five-O,” which ran on CBS from 1968 to 1980, aired in Germany on pubcaster ARD in the 1970s and years later on ProSieben and affiliate Kabel Eins.
