‘Glee’ inks syndication deal with Fox Stations

Popular skein to begin syndie reruns in fall 2013

Fox Television Stations have acquired the syndie run of “Glee.”

Deal is not unexpected considering that the hourlong dramedy comes from Twentieth Century Fox Television. Show, which has been cleared in the New York, Los Angeles and Chicago markets, among others, will premiere on weekend syndication in fall 2013.

“Glee” has a previous syndie deal with femme-skewing Oxygen, which will air the show as a strip in 2013. Oxygen also is set to launch the 10-episode “The Glee Project” in June; the winning contestant will appear for seven episodes in season three of “Glee.”

“Glee,” which is averaging 9.8 million viewers this season, recently drew 26.8 million in its Feb. 6 post-Super Bowl episode. Although that’s a strong number, some consider it slightly disappointing considering 111 million watched the game — the most-viewed program of all time.

Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan and Dante Di Loreto are exec producers.
