Fox orders Kiefer Sutherland drama

'Touch' set to bow in spring 2012

Fox has officially picked up the Kiefer Sutherland drama series “Touch” for midseason, the network confirmed Thursday.

Thirteen episodes were ordered from 20th Century Fox Television and Chernin Entertainment in association with Tailwind Prods. for a spring bow in a timeslot be determined.

The pickup was hardly a surprise given that Reilly has been high on the project, which brings back Sutherland back to the net two years after the wrap of “24.”

Sutherland plays a father to an autistic son with a genius for connecting seemingly unrelated events. Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Danny Glover also star.

“Touch” was created by Tim Kring (“Heroes”), who exec produces with Francis Lawrence, Carol Barbee, Sutherland, Peter Chernin, Katherine Pope and Suzan Bymel.
