Fox International Channels has launched a new sports division, with its goal to help monetize all of the global conglom’s sports-related holdings.
Mission of FIC Sports is to centralize Fox’s global sports interests under one group in an effort to increase revenues through syndication and to support News Corp.’s sports activities and worldwide strategies.
Unit will be led by senior VP Peter Hutton, who will report to FIC prexy-CEO Herman Lopez.
Most recently, Hutton was a partner and director at Broadreach Media, a consultancy firm that advised clients such as FIC, Sportsband Media Group and Willow Cricket. In 2009 Hutton was chief operating officer of Taj Television/10 Sports in Dubai. While there he helped acquire rights to such events as the World Cup, EUFA Champions League and international cricket.
