Verizon, Mediacom give next-day access to fare
Fox has added Verizon Fios TV and Mediacom to the list of multichannel providers who will give next-day access to its primetime shows.
In July, Fox became the first broadcaster to push the online availability of primetime series to eight days after years of providing next-day access via Fox.com and Hulu, where parent company News Corp. is part owner.
Dish signed on as the only distributor to provide next-day access to its subscribers as of Aug. 15. Verizon has already been imposing the delay as of Oct. 1 while Mediacom is expected to join in a few more weeks.
No other broadcaster has yet to follow Fox’s TV Everywhere strategy, though ABC and NBC also make their programs available on Hulu.
