Chelsea Handler spinoff series gets second season

E! has renewed Chelsea Lately mockumentary “After Lately” for a second season.

The show, which offers a mostly fictional look behind the scenes of Handler’s latenight talker “Chelsea Lately,” averaged nearly 1 million viewers per week in its first season, which concluded April 24. That represented a 50%-plus increase over the network’s primetime delivery.

“This series is comedic to its core and showcases Chelsea and her hilarious team in a fun and innovative way,” E! entertainment prexy Lisa Berger said.

Handler and Tom Brunelle exec produce the series, which co-stars Chuy Bravo, Sarah Colonna, Brad Wollack, Chris Franjola, Heather McDonald, Jeff Wild, Johnny Kansas, Steve Marmalstein and Roy Handler.
