Tucked away behind the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, a young man’s corpse floats in a pool and the serving staff is splattered in blood. This would-be crime scene set the pace for Tuesday’s “Dexter: The Complete Fifth Season” DVD release party, sponsored by Dolby.
The hotel’s Tropicana Bar resembled both a Miami hotspot and the scene of a grisly massacre as partygoers/witnesses were served Cuban goodies and “Dexter”-themed drinks, like the Dexter-ita and Lumen on the Beach.
Series vets David Zayas, C.S. Lee and James Remar talked about the upcoming season, including the latest additions to the “Dexter” family, Edward James Olmos and Colin Hanks.
“I love new cast members every year. I really like the new energy that they bring to the show,” Zayas said.
The star of “Dexter” didn’t make the fete, but was remembered fondly. “You watch the show and you think, I like that guy,” Zayas said of Michael C. Hall.
