Actress returns to HBO for comedy pilot

Hope Davis is making a return to HBO.

Actress, who co-starred in season two of “In Treatment” and portrayed first lady Hillary Clinton in “The Special Relationship,” will co-star with Tea Leoni in the comedy pilot “Spring/Fall.”

Project centers of the Gotham fashion scene and two women who approach life from different perspectives. Leoni’s character hires Davis to help with her business when things begin to spiral out of control.

Script was written by Kate Robin, who penned a handful of episodes on the pay cabler’s mortuary drama “Six Feet Under.” Directing the pilot is Jake Kasdan, whose most recent TV effort was Showtime’s “Californication.”

On the bigscreen, Kasdan helmed “Bad Teacher,” which stars Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel and Justin Timberlake. Pic arrives in theaters June 24.

“Spring/Fall” exec producers are Robin, Leoni and R.J. Cutler.
