Nets in summer rerun mode

Fox won a competitive Thursday by airing one of only two new shows of the night, “So You Think You Can Dance.”

Hourlong reality skein won the 8 p.m. slot with a 2.1 rating/8 share in the 18-49 demo, with 6.2 million overall viewers. “Dance” bested a pair of CBS sitcoms — “The Big Bang Theory” (1.7/7, 6.6m) and “Rules of Engagement” (1.3/5, 5.5m) — as well as ABC’s “Wipeout” (1.6/6, 5.4m) and NBC laffers “Community” (0.7/3, 2.6m) and “30 Rock” (0.7/3, 2.3m).

Alphabet offered another edition of “Wipeout” at 9 o’clock, and it led the hour with a 2.0/6, 6m. At 10 p.m., the net aired a rerun of “Rookie Blue” (0.9/3, 3.5m), hoping to whet the appetite of viewers when the show begins its second season next week.

Though it came in third place, CBS scored the most viewers for the night.

NBC continued running off “Love Bites” and the dramedy scored a 0.9/3, with 2.3 million viewers at 10 o’clock. That was far less than “The Mentalist” (1.4/4, 8m), which drew a higher aud than any other show Thursday.

Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: Fox, 1.6/5; ABC, 1.5/5; CBS, 1.4/5; Univision, 1.2/4; NBC, 0.9/3; CW, 0.4/1.

In total viewers: CBS, 7.1 million; ABC, 5 million; Fox, 4.8 million; Univision, 3 million; NBC, 2.6 million; CW, 1 million.
