NEW YORK

It was a short guest list for HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” series premiere party on July 6. But if you made the list, you were in luck. A laid-back two-episode bill (the guaranteed-to-offend “Palestinian Chicken” and “Mister Softee”) at the Time Warner Center screening room put the guests in a good mood for a full-blown sit-down dinner at Porterhouse.

HBO’s Richard Plepler segued into thanking Larry David’s collaborators with the assertion, “even Larry will admit he doesn’t do all this by himself.”

“That’s not true!” David interrupted.

Guests included Jeff Garlin, Ana Gasteyer, Amy Landecker, Richard Kind and Cheryl Hines, with boyfriend Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Notable by his absence was Fred Melamed, who got plenty of chuckles for his turn as Larry’s condescending psychiatrist Simon Thurgood in “Mister Softee.” – - — Sam Thielman
