Xfinity kicks off Sunday with 'Tim Horton'

Comcast is set to launch a 24-hour 3D network, Xfinity 3D.

Channel kicks off Sunday with “2011 Tim Horton’s NHL Heritage Classic,” featuring the matchup of the Montreal Canadiens and Calgary Flames playing outdoors in McMahon Stadium in Calgary, and an MTV World Stage concert by rockers Kings of Leon from O2 World in Hamburg, Germany.

New channel is Comcast’s latest in a series of 3D programming efforts, including the launch of HBO 3D on Demand and a number of one-off sports presentations.

Comcast also announced there have been one million views from its On Demand 3D offerings since the Masters golf tournament in April 2010.
