CNN has signed former Bush administration aide Ari Fleischer as a political contributor as the 2012 presidential elections begin to gear up.
Fleischer worked for several candidates, including Elizabeth Dole, before becoming George W. Bush’s senior communications advisor and spokesman. Fleischer gave the daily White House press briefing from 2001 to 2003. He also penned “Taking Heat,” a nonfiction bestseller about his time working for the Bush-Cheney administration. He currently runs D.C. area praisery Ari Fleischer Sports.
Having worked on a successful presidential campaign and having spent 21 years in Washington, I’m looking forward to joining CNN as a regular contributor,” said Fleischer in a release. “It’s shaping up as a red hot political year and I’m eager to lend my perspective to it.”
