CBS wins quiet Wednesday race

Reruns dominate in run up to new year

CBS won the Wednesday ratings race on a night dominated by reruns.

Everything, except the CW movie special “According to Greta,” was in repeats and more viewers turned to the Eye than anywhere else.

Best for the net was “Criminal Minds” at 9 p.m. Skein drew a 2.3 rating/6 share in the 18-49 demo and 10.4 million viewers overall, according to early estimates by Nielsen. An hour later “CSI” (2.1/6, 9.6m) was second best for the night.

ABC, led by “Modern Family” (1.9/5, 5.5m), was second to CBS, slightly edging Fox, which ran a pair of “Raising Hope” and “New Girl” episodes. The last “New Girl” that aired scored best, earning a 1.1/3, 2.7m.

Tops for NBC was the 8 p.m. “Up All Night” (1.0/3, 3.4m).

The aforementioned two-hour pic “According to Greta” earned a 0.4/1, 1.2m.

Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: CBS, 2.1/6; Univision, 1.4/4; ABC, 1.2/3; Fox, 1.0/3; NBC, 0.8/2; CW, 0.4/1.

In total viewers: CBS, 9.8 million ABC, 4 million; NBC, 3.3 million; Univision, 3.3 million; Fox, 3.1 million; CW, 1.2 million.
