Eye to roll out Web, Twitter and Facebook campaigns
CBS.com launched Monday a two-week promotional blitz in support of the network’s fall schedule.A combination of the website and social-media hubs Facebook and Twitter will offer a mix of exclusive video and interaction with Eye talent and series producers. Also returning is Tweet Week, a stunt CBS first tried last April that will have stars tweeting their way through season premieres. The first week will feature 15-minute video shows that will provide a rundown of what to expect regarding each weeknight’s lineup of new and returning series. In addition, CBS.com will host live chats with producers of returning series that had cliffhangers including Peter Lenkov (“Hawaii Five-0″) and Gary Glasberg (“NCIS”). The videos will go live at 7:30 p.m. ET, and corresponding chats will follow at varying times. Fans can log on via Facebook and Twitter to participate. Twitter becomes the focal point of the promotional strategy beginning Sept. 19, which kicks off premiere week. Each night on the East Coast through Sept. 25, a series will be paired with a cast member who will tweet during the episode, including Jeff Probst for “Survivor” and Julianna Margulies for “The Good Wife.”
