CBS picks up pilot from J.J. Abrams, Jon Nolan

Meanwhile, Fox checks in to 'Bellevue' drama

CBS has picked up its first J.J. Abrams pilot, a crime drama penned by “The Dark Knight” screenwriter Jonathan Nolan.

“Person of Interest,” from Bad Robot and Warner Bros. TV, centers around an ex-CIA hitman and scientist who team up to prevent crimes before they happen. Nolan, Abrams and Bad Robot’s Bryan Burk are exec producers.

Meanwhile, Fox ordered the drama pilot “Weekends at Bellevue,” based on the book by Dr. Julie Holland.

Medical drama, written by Lisa Zwerling, is based on Holland’s tenure as a doctor on the emergency psych ward at New York’s famed Bellevue Hospital.

Zwerling will exec produce with Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein. “Bellevue” is from Universal Media Studios and BermanBraun.

BermanBraun also has an untitled laffer pilot from scribe Dan Goor in contention at NBC.
