CBS morning show gets a title

'CBS This Morning' will hit the airwaves Jan. 9

CBS has announced the title of its upcoming replacement for “The Early Show”: “CBS This Morning.”

Series will air opposite NBC’s “Today” and ABC’s “Good Morning America,” both ultra-profitable (and very similar) programs against which “Early Show” perennially came in third. News of the revamp was leaked and then officially announced last month.

The two-hour broadcast will be hosted by Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Erica Hill, with a premiere set for Jan. 9 at 7 a.m. The news division’s veep of programming, Chris Licht, will exec produce “This Morning.”
