CBS, Fox add to pilot roster

Eye nabs femme-focused dramas; Fox grabs Meriwether laffer

In Monday’s pilot pickup activity, CBS picked up two drama pilots while Fox ordered a single-camera laffer from “No Strings Attached” scribe Liz Meriwether.

CBS projects are both from Warner Bros. TV and both revolve around strong femme characters.

“Hail Mary” comes from Joel Silver’s Silver Pictures and scribe Jeff Wadlow. It revolves around a Southern femme private eye who partners with a street-wise hustler to solve crimes. Wadlow and Silver exec produce, with Beau Bauman on board as producer.

Fox’s untitled laffer comes from Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV. Project revolves around a “Bridget Jones”-type girl who moves in with three guys and they all learn surprising secrets.

Meriwether will exec produce with Peter Chernin and Chernin Entertainment’s Katherine Pope.
