Marco Altberg to lead delegation to Cartoons on the Bay
ROME — Brazil’s booming toon scene will be celebrated by Italy’s 15th Cartoons on the Bay TV animation fest.
Marco Altberg, prexy of the Brazilian TV producers org, will lead a delegation of toon companies comprising TV PinGuim (“Fishtronaut”), 2D Lab (“My Big Big Friend”) and Digital Spirit Animation plus Aida Queiroz, who heads Rio De Janeiro’s Anima Mundi, Latin America’s largest animation fest.
Cartoons on the Bay, sponsored and run by pubcaster RAI, takes place in the northern riviera towns of Rapallo, Santa Margherita and Portofino.
The fest will run April 7-10 as the Mip TV mart winds down in Cannes — a three-hour drive for execs attending both.
The more than 650 works from 42 countries will include the international bow of the first two episodes of season three of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” from Lucasfilm Animation.
