News vet to develop show for cabler
BET has cut a talent deal with former CNN anchor/correspondent T.J. Holmes.
Pact calls for Holmes to develop a show for the Viacom-owned cabler as well as produce content for BET.com. It’s expected that he will contribute some kind of news reporting for BET platforms, but details about his role and the show are still being hammered out.
“He’s been an outstanding news anchor and we look forward to making him shine. It’s now upon us to develop vehicles that capture his intelligence, curiosity about the world, warmth, humor and compassion,” said Stephen Hill, prexy of music programming and specials at BET Networks.
Holmes joined CNN in 2006. During his tenure with the all-news cabler he worked on stories ranging from the execution of Saddam Hussein to last year’s BP oil spill in the Gulf. Before CNN, he worked at NBC’s San Francisco O&O.
