Temple Street Prods. will co-produce series

BBC Worldwide America and Toronto-based Temple Street Prods. have pacted to jointly develop fact-based content for U.S. and international viewers.

Two projects are already in the works under the deal, one exploring North America’s most dangerous day jobs, the other focusing on the life of a woman competing in a man’s world.

BBC Worldwide purchased a minority stake in Temple Street in 2008, giving Temple Street a first-look option in Canada to produce formats that BBC Worldwide owns or for which they have Canadian rights. In turn, BBC Worldwide has had a first-look option to acquire international distribution rights for Temple Street originals.

Temple Street’s past and present co-productions include Showtime’s “Queer As Folk,” SoapNet’s “Being Erica” and CTV’s “Canada’s Next Top Model.”

“They’re a creative and innovative team. … I’m confident this will be a rewarding partnership for both parties,” said BBC Worldwide exec veep of sales and co-productions Matt Forde.

David Forter and Ivan Schneeberg are co-presidents of Temple Street Prods.
