BBC Worldwide is bringing royal wedding fever to the Croisette, announcing the sale of documentary “William and Kate — A Royal Engagement” to 32 outlets in more than 24 countries including the U.S. (Universal), Australia (Bio Channel) and Italy (CDI ).Doc features Prince William and Kate Middleton’s friends plus historians and biographers speaking about the couple’s different upbringings, and tracing the moments leading to their engagement. Worldwide has four other royal wedding-themed shows at Mip TV, which kicks off today. The BBC’s two-part “Britain’s Royal Weddings” examining the pomp and circumstance of royal weddings since 1923. “Untold Stories of a Royal Bridesmaid,” produced by Magilla Entertainment for TLC, examines the wedding of Prince Charles and then-Lady Diana Spencer through the eyes of TV anchor and fashion designer India Hicks, a bridesmaid at the ceremony. Hicks also previews this year’s royal wedding. Lion Television and BBC America are behind “Royalty Mad.” Two-part special fronted by Cat Deeley follows five Americans on a journey to London to experience all things royal and wedding related. “Inside the Royal Wedding,” a Spun Gold production for NBC, follows some of the people involved in staging the event. BBC Worldwide also has international distrib rights to the BBC1 feed of the wedding, which takes place at Westminster Abbey on April 29.
