BBC America set for ‘Fades’

Net to co-produce new horror/drama skein

BBC America is building on the BBC’s success with genre shows: the Beeb’s stateside sister net is set to co-produce a new horror/drama skein called “The Fades.” The six-seg hourlong series, made by BBC Drama, is written by “Skins” scribe Jack Thorne and exec produced by Susan Hogg.

The story will follow Iain De Caestecker’s character, Paul, a teenager who suffers from apocalyptic nightmares and begins to see ghosts called Fades in his waking life. One Fade, Polus, becomes human and threatens to make Paul’s dreams come true.

Other cast include “Skins” vets Daniel Kaluuya, Lily Loveless and Natalie Dormer of “Tudors” fame.

Show will bow later in 2011 during BBC America’s “Supernatural Saturday” block.
