Star to get Interactive Rockies award for 'Web Therapy'

TORONTO — Lisa Kudrow will receive the inaugural Award of Excellence in Digital Media at the Banff World Media Festival’s Interactive Rockies, it was announced Tuesday.

Best known for her work on “Friends,” Kudrow is star, co-writer and co-producer of Istudio.com’s Webby-winning series “Web Therapy,” which moves to Showtime in July.

Fest exec director Ferne Cohen said “Therapy” is “one of those few online series that is truly of the web, not just on it.”

Kudrow, who set up Is or Isn’t Entertainment in 2003, will also give a feature interview during the fest discussing her career transitions and her take on the future of digital entertainment.

Banff runs June 12-15.
