Marnie Black has been hired by AMC to be its senior VP of public relations.
Responsibilities will include dealing with the consumer press, as well talent relations, awards campaigns and special events.
Black arrives at the cabler after running her own PR firm, with a client list that included CNN, Comcast and Readers Digest.
“Marnie is a seasoned communications strategist with a strong track-record of raising the bar on creative and high-impact media relations campaigns,” said Ellen Kroner, exec VP of communications for Rainbow Media. “She brings a wealth of expertise to the position, having created many award-winning and culturally defining media campaigns for a number of Fortune 500 companies.”
