ABC sets helmer for ‘Once Upon’

Mark Mylod set for fairy tale fantasy pilot from 'Lost' pair

Helmer Mark Mylod has signed on to direct the ABC/ABC Studios fantasy drama pilot “Once Upon a Time.”

Project is a high-profile drama contender for the Alphabet that hails from “Lost” alums Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. Story revolves around a woman who’s drawn to a small town in Maine after a boy shows up on her doorstep claiming to be her son, and she finds that the magic and mystery of fairy tales may be the key to understanding her troubled past.

Kitsis, Horowitz and Steven Pearlman are exec producers.

Mylod is known for helming numerous segs of “Entourage.” More recently he directed the pilot for the Showtime drama “Shameless” and segs of the pay cabler’s “United States of Tara.”
