Six more scripts of 'Happy Endings' ordered

ABC made its first frosh renewals Thursday, handing full-seasons pickups to drama “Revenge” and comedy “Suburgatory” after strong showings Wednesday.

The network is also ordering six scripts of second-year comedy “Happy Endings,” which perked up 18% in the 18-49 demo on Wednesday in the absence of “The X Factor.” The Fox series got bumped due to a rain delay for the American League Championship Series.

“Suburgatory” and “Revenge”have both delivered year-to-year improvements for the Alphabet in their respective 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. timeslots. “Suburgatory” has averaged a 3.2 rating/9 share with 9.2 million total viewers (live plus same-day), while “Revenge” has drawn a 2.8/7 and 8.5 million following “Happy Endings.”

Emily Kapnek and Michael Fresco are exec producers of “Suburgatory,” which is produced by Warner Bros. Television.

“Revenge” is from ABC Studios, Page Fright, Mike Kelley Prods. and Temple Hill Prods. Exec producers are Mike Kelley, Marty C. Bowen, Gordon Wyck Godfrey and Phillip Noyce.

“Endings” is from Sony Pictures Television, FanFare Prods. and ABC Studios. Exec producers are David Caspe, Jamie Tarses, Jonathan Groff, Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.
