A&E renews ‘Breakout Kings’

Second season to air in 2012

A&E has renewed original drama “Breakout Kings” for a second season, which will air in 2012.

Created by Nick Santora and Matt Olmstead, “Breakout Kings” was originally developed for Fox by Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV. After Fox passed on the pilot, it landed a 13-episode order with A&E, for whom it averaged 2.2 million overall viewers (1.2 million among adults 18-49).

The March 6 premiere of “Breakout Kings” drew 2.8 million viewers overall and 1.5 million in 18-49, the latter a record for an A&E premiere.

“Breakout Kings” stars Laz Alonso, Domenick Lombardozzi, Brooke Nevin, Jimmi Simpson, Malcolm Goodwin and Serinda Swan.
