3D cable channel 3Net has tapped Carlos Gutierrez for the newly created position of v.p., business affairs and legal. Gutierrez will report to 3Net topper Tom Cosgrove. Gutierrez will start June 1.
The network, a joint venture between Discovery, Sony and Imax, is headquartered on the Sony Studios lot in Culver City, Calif., where Gutierrez will be based. ”(Gutierrez’s) unique skill set will prove invaluable as we continue to develop domestic and international production partnerships and identify additional opportunities to expand our business,” said Cosgrove. Gutierrez will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day biz and legal aspects of the net’s operations, including negotiating multiplatform deals.
