Pic preems in London
Security at London’s Westfield shopping center was stretched to the limit on Feb. 8, as teems of girls descended to catch a glimpse of lead Ed Westwick, at the world preem of Paramount’s “Chalet Girl.”
Set in the dizzy heights of St. Anton, Austria’s premier ski resort, the romcom plays up to seasonaire stereotypes, with even cast and crew succumbing to apres-ski festivities.
Feeling his age, helmer Phil Traill declared, “Nobody was focusing in the middle of the night, but they were all fine by morning. They’re a lot younger than me, so I was the one struggling!”
Pic’s Felicity Jones concurred with Traill, claiming, “I think the socializing was almost obligatory with this kind of film.” Indeed. Rebel Westwick cast a cautious glance towards his young admirers before admitting, “I think I annoyed the lady who ran our hotel, because I stole a bottle of wine!”
Westbourne Studios hosted the filmmakers for a small party after the screening.
