AFTRA Awards bow in downtown L.A.

Org honors David Crosby at Club Nokia

John Walsh — not best known for comedy — managed to evoke by far the biggest laughs during Monday’s AFTRA Media and Entertainment Excellence Awards at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles.

“John, could you give me David Crosby’s award, please?” asked emcee Bob Edwards of the host of “America’s Most Wanted” after he picked up Crosby’s identical trophy by mistake.

Holding the trophy, Crosby later quipped, “John, if you had gone off with this, I would have had to put you on your own show.”

Walsh noted in his acceptance speech that his reality show’s now run for 23 years. “I have probably employed more out-of-work actors than any other show,” he added.
