Photographer, HFPA member committed suicide

Journalist, photographer and producer Max B. Miller died Jan. 17 in a suicide from a gunshot wound to the head. He was 73.

Miller was CEO of Fotos Intl., an L.A.-based celebrity photo syndication agency he had run since 1976.

Miller was a 44-year member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. In addition, he was active in industry orgs including the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, American Cinematheque, American Film Institute, Film Independent, Independent Film Project, Intl. Documentary Assn. and Society of American Archivists.

Miller, born in Los Angeles, is survived by his son Maximus.
