U.K. pubcaster Channel 4 has picked up the U.S. remake of hit Danish thriller “The Killing.”
The 13-part series, produced by Fox Television Studios for AMC in the States, centers on the murder of a teen in Seattle and the subsequent police investigation.
Veena Sud (“Cold Case”) is the showrunner on the series, which stars Mireille Enos as the lead detective.
The show was among several additions to the skeds announced by Channel 4’s chief creative officer Jay Hunt
Among those is “Happy Families,” an original toon series from L.A. shingle Rough Draft, whose work includes “Futurama” and “The Simpsons Movie.” The satirical take on British suburban life is based on drawings by Alex Scarfe and a script by brothers Jack and Harry Williams.
Other commissions include four-part science show “Drugs Live.”
