Dye had recurring roles on TV
John Dye, who was featured in “Touched by an Angel,” died Jan. 10 in San Francisco of heart failure. He was 47.
Dye started out playing the death angel, but later was one of three angels who gave people hope in the series that aired on CBS from 1993-2003. His character, Andrew, was a recurring role that became a regular by season three.
The Mississippi native started in showbiz with 1984’s “Making the Grade,” which was filming in his state.
Thesp racked up TV credits starting with sudser “The Young and the Restless” in 1986. He also had recurring roles in “Murder, She Wrote,” “Tour of Duty,” “Jack’s Place,” “Hotel Malibu” and “Promised Land.” He also was featured in the mini “Billionaire Boys Club” and the telepics “Once Upon a Christmas” and its sequel.
In features, Dye had roles in “Campus Man,” “Best of the Best” and “The Perfect Man.” His last outing was 2007’s “Fist of the Warrior.”
Survivors include his parents and two brothers.
