They’re all smiles

Operation Smile's 10th Annual Gala took place Friday

By the time NBC’s big gun hit the stage at the Operation Smile 10th Annual Gala on Friday, there really wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Jennifer Nicholson Salke received the Founders Circle Award, which she shared with her 12-year-old son, Henry, whose own cleft palate surgery has made him determined to help others with this life-changing operation.

“I’m working on raising $50,000,” Henry said determinedly. The mother-son pair recently went on a mission to Brazil with the org led by Dr. Bill and Kathy Magee.

“I cannot wait to go again,” said the NBC exec. “Bill and Kathy, I’d follow you anywhere.”

Awards at the Beverly Hilton also went to Zachary Levi, Bill and Giuliana Rancic and Sue Tsao.

The evening capped off with an impressive performance introduced by Mark Burnett, with a dig at his reality-show rival. “We love to torture Simon Cowell,” Burnett joked, “so here’s great music from ‘The Voice.’ Here’s Dia Frampton!”
