The Gotham Group’s Nate Matteson

Hollywood's New Leaders: 10 Assistants to Watch

Just five years after leaving his home state of Wisconsin, Matteson has found his calling — representation. Like his boss, Gotham Group’s CEO Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Matteson is relentless when it comes to his clients, especially up-and-coming talent. The 28-year-old assistant-trainee is also responsible for Intrepid Pictures tapping newbie screenwriters Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson to adapt the Patrick Carman young adult novel “Skeleton Creek.” Additionally, Matteson works directly with Eric Reese, whose spec script “The Faces” is in development at FilmNation Entertainment. “It’s such a dreams-into-dollars business that we work in, so seeing a client get their first job, be it a small deal or a big one, is incredibly satisfying and vindicating.”
