Elisabeth Moss kicked up her Jimmy Choo heels and plunged into TV’s big week on Sunday night, as the Audi/David Yurman’s Emmy Week 2011 Kick Off Party launched the whirlwind leading up to the Emmy Awards on Sept. 18.
“It’s going to be a long week,” Moss said with a happy giggle as she and her fellow nominee and “Mad Men” boss Matthew Weiner fielded congrats all night, camped out in a corner of the transformed front parking lot at Cecconi’s restaurant. “But I remember when we made the pilot at Silvercup. Matt and I were on the roof after we finished shooting, looking at the New York skyline. I said to him, ‘I loved this. I hope we get to do more.’ And here we are, going into our fifth season. It’s amazing!”
Elsewhere at the fete, “Mike & Molly” nominee Melissa McCarthy joked, “it’s great to be a breakout star after working steadily in television for the last 10 years.” Standing nearby, Emmy host Jane Lynch couldn’t help but agree.
