Soumya Sriraman joins BBC Worldwide Americas as exec VP of home entertainment and licensing. She was most recently president and CEO of Palisades Tartan U.S. and U.K.
She starts Tuesday. BBC said Sriraman will be responsible for maximizing revenues across the BBC’s DVD and licensing business in the U.S. and Canada by expanding the business through new product, maximizing distribution, creating partnerships and developing brand platforms.
She will report to chief operating officer Ann Sarnoff.
“We have a highly successful DVD arm and a licensing business that’s starting to gain traction,” Sarnoff said. “Soumya’s extensive experience in home entertainment, coupled with her entrepreneurial drive and fresh perspective make her the perfect choice to grow both businesses.”
At Palisades Tartan, Sriraman spearheaded the relaunch of the Tartan brand. She was previously senior VP at Vivendi, Universal Music and Video Distribution’s filmed entertainment arm and held positions at Warner Home Video and Universal Home Entertainment.
