Story depicts high school next to CIA headquarters

Benderspink and Stephen L’Heureux are going to “Langley High,” optioning the upcoming self-published comic from creators Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman.

Story centers on a pair of students from Langley High, the school that’s located just 1.7 miles from CIA headquarters. When one of their fathers is abducted, they go on the run together with the help of one of their teachers to save him and end up uncovering a conspiracy larger than either of them could have imagined.

Deal was announced Friday at Comic-Con. Project’s overseen by Benderspink’s Christopher Cosmos.

This is the second collaboration between Coker and Freedman with Benderspink and L’Heureux after the producers set up an adaptation of vampire comic “Undying Love” at Warners. Coker and Freedman will adapt the story, focusing on the romance between an ex-soldier and a vampire in Hong Kong.

New Line-based Benderspink has set up “Abducted” and “The Mighty” at Paramount, a female actioner by Douglas Cook & David Weisberg at Summit and “Burt Wonderstone” with Steve Carrell at New Line.
