Branded entertainment prize goes to 'Fear of Flying'
“Heroes” creator Tim Kring’s “Conspiracy for Good” was a double winner Wednesday night at the Banff World Media Festival’s Interactive Rockies, which handed out eight prizes and five previously announced special awards honoring achievement in digital and Web-based projects.
“Conspiracy,” a multi-platform project described as “social benefit storytelling,” nabbed the best cross-platform and best interactive awards. The pilot was produced by Kring’s TKE Imperative and Sweden’s The Company P in partnership with Nokia.
The branded entertainment Rockie went to “Fact Checkers Unit — Fear of Flying,” produced by SXM for nbc.com.
Online program Rockies were awarded to the National Film Board of Canada’s “Welcome to Pine Point” (docu), FremantleMedia’s “Sorted” (entertainment), Productions Babel’s “Temps mort: Saison 2-Episode 1” (drama) and Jill Golick Enterprises’s “Ruby Skye P.I.” (children and youth).
The NFB’s “Sacree Montagne” won the Numerique Rockie for French-language project.
