Dealmakers Impact Report 2011: Executives

Matosich has his hand in every major Summit film deal. He negotiated the acquisition of “The Twilight Saga” and Norwegian best-selling crime thriller “Headhunters.” He oversees all principal talent deals and sets up the financing structure for each production, including distribution deals in foreign markets. “The past year has been about putting together pictures that make financial sense, which has become ever-more challenging.” he says. “The good news: through third-party distributors we can hedge the downside risk in a foreign market.”

KEY DEALS: Negotiated co-financing deal between Summit, OddLot and Digital Domain for “Ender’s Game,” slated for a March 2013 release; co-finance and distribution agreement between Summit and RCR Media for the “Highlander” franchise; acquired rights to “The Night Circus,” which David Heyman will produce.
