Tom Hooper absorbed the news of “The King’s Speech” haul of Oscar noms in style, on the patio at the Chateau Marmont.
The helmer called it “the best early morning rise I could have compared to all the 5 a.m. shoots — this definitely takes the cake,” he said. “It was so nice to go out on the patio after watching the (noms) telecast, and it was great to watch the sun (rise) as I talked to my mom and dad about the nomination. I’m an old-school director (and) if I can touch one million people I’m happy. It looks like so many have been touched by this film. To me, there is no better feeling to achieve as a director.”
