Best Adapted Screenplay, 'Winter's Bone'

Debra Granik, who adapted the screenplay for “Winter’s Bone” with Anne Rosellini, says she’s especially stunned by the nomination because her film wasn’t widely available.

“It all ended with people in a position to view the material … they had to put that screener in their player and that was the biggest gap, when a film is not in a powerful position. Maybe it’s better not to know exactly how that happened.”
